We really like this place. Pizza and subs are good, pasta is ok, priced just right and service is great. The guys in there always seem to be happy, smiling and joking around with customers. Wish they would deliver though.

This place is really rather good. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is better than most in the area. The pizza sauce could have more spices (oregano or garlic) but it had a nice Roma Tomato taste (not canned or waxy) If you are looking for a low key New York style pizza place this is it!

5 stars for great food, great sauce, great prices, and great owners. I love that the shop is family owned, and whether you're ordering pizza or subs, everything on the menu is delicious! Definitely a great alternative to the national pizza chains if you're looking for something a little more local.

One star taken off because the pizza is greasier than I like, but otherwise I love this place. I used to live across the street from when when I was a teenager, so I have fond memories of grabbing a slice with friends after school or as a quick dinner while I waited for my laundry to get done at the laundromat next door. I moved away and came back 10 years later and they still remember me, which I find to be a nice surprise. The pizza is greasy but good, with a tangy tomato sauce and a nice amount of cheese. I haven't had much else from here save but for a cheesesteak and fries, both of which aren't anything to write home about but are tasty for what they are. This place has a menu full of options, indoor seating, and some good deals every day as well.

Love these guys. Family owned, support the community, and prices are good. Love the cheap bolis and ice cold cans of soda. Give em' love. Oh yeah, the pizza is great too...

In my quest to find Central PA's best pizza, I was referred to Villa Roma Pizza. Although it serves a pretty good pizza, the restaurant seems to have a little bit of an identity crisis featuring everything from pizza to burritos. Although this is not necessarily bad, I would contest that they are more synonymous with a 'Jack-of-all-Trades; yet Master-of-None' type of establishment. Food: As with every other pizza joint I have frequented in the past 8 weeks, I ordered one slice of cheese pizza. The rather unfriendly gentleman on the other side of the counter asked for about $2.25, and cut a slice of pizza off of the pie on the counter, put it on a plate, and served it to me. Ummm....didn't you forget to throw that in the oven and heat that up, boss? Apparently not, so I took my slice and sat down. Immediately I noticed a dough with a more pillow-y consistency than the slightly dense crispy/chewy texture that I crave in a great pizza dough. Additionally, this dough seemed to be slightly under-cooked. By no means was it raw; it just had no colorization. It was a pale white color -- similar to the legs of my late grandmother. A pizza crust needs to stay in the oven long enough to at least get golden-brown -- come on! Rudimentary stuff Villa Roma. The sauce was surprisingly good, and had a nice, clean taste to it. What I mean is, there was very little acidic after-bite. They seemed to coax-out the natural sweetness and freshness of the tomato. Unfortunately, the cheese was a conglomerated and lukewarm sheet across my slice. This could have been fixed by throwing the damn thing in the oven for 30 seconds. Totally unacceptable. Sauce: 4 / 5, Dough: 2 / 5, Cheese: 2 / 5 Food: 2 / 5 Service: I did not receive horrendous service, but it was neither pleasant nor gracious for receiving my hard-earned money. Ultimately, I choose where I get to spend my money, and I will never spend my money at an establishment where I do no feel valued or appreciated. Even just the slightest acknowledgement that I was another human being in your place of business, willing to pay money for your product would have been nice. A smile, a 'hi how are you', a 'how may I help you', a brisk nod of the head that communicated 'wassup' -- any of that would have been acceptable. Instead, I got the semi-annoyed demeanor of someone who seemed like they had a stick-up-their-butt. Service: 1 / 5 Atmosphere: Despite the extreme lack of service, the atmosphere inside of the VIlla Roma is pleasant, clean, and comfortable. Honestly, I was hoping for a much better experience regarding service and food, because I would have definitely taken my family here for a pizza-night-out. Unfortunately, Villa Roma's lack of fundamental customer service skills and a good quality pizza (on my visit) will prevent me from ever coming back. Atmosphere: 4 / 5 Price: For what I paid, I firmly believe that the combination of the pizza and the service is one of the worst values I have experienced thus far in the Central PA area. Maybe this was just an off-day for the person working the counter, or maybe that is just the way that this establishment runs their business? Either way, I do not feel good about the roughly $2.25 I spent on a slice of pizza. Price: 2 / 5 Final Thoughts: With the (literally) dozens of pizza places in the Central PA area, not all of them can live-up to the high expectations that I set forth in the aforementioned categories (Food, Service, Atmosphere, and Price). That said, Villa Roma far-underwhelmed me in nearly every area, and with the wide range of choices that I have for getting pizza in the area, I do not suppose I will ever be back. If I were you, I would suggest trying out Boston Express (my personal favorite), or Zeiderelli's (currently, my second ranked pizzeria).

I live around here but never visited til I got a Groupon I couldn't pass up. The pizza was very forgettable, I would never order it again, like someone else said, it was tasteless. Went back a second time (got 2 groupons) and got stromboli and a sub, and those were decent. There are plenty of other pizza joints close by so I probably won't go back. Service was good.

  • Lynn L.

I loved this place as a kid, but I was really disappointed with the pizza last night. They do not use fresh ingredients! I couldn't believe they used dried basil on a margherita pizza in the middle of July! It was really tasteless and my whole family agreed. It was also fairly expensive. The people who work there are really nice, but you can easily find better food.

Great food and great service. If you call an order in, it can be somewhat difficult to understand whoever you happen to be talking to, but they are so nice it never really matters. I've never had a bad item and they always make it how you want it-no matter how strange the request.
